Communism

Communism              Typical definition:- Communism which in Latin means ‘common universal’ is a philosophical, social, political and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is establishment of a socioeconomic order structured upon the ideas of common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social, classless, money and the state. If we talk of communism, we can have multiple definitions with similar actual meaning. In simple words let’s say communism is “ From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” This means that every person should work according to his abilities and should be rewarded accordingly. Such a society would be free of class differences, money and there would be no state. In a communist society, all the means of production (resources such as land, factories, farms etc) would be owned and controlled by laborers. Laborers here are common people. Primitive form of communi...

Climate part 5

The seasons 2.0    If we look at Indian climate, it makes us experience two more seasons apart from summer and winter. In this blog we are gonna talk about them.   The season of advancing monsoon:- This season is commonly known as The Rainy Season . The south easterly trade winds that are formed in the parts of the southern oceans start blowing in the south westerly direction and reach the Indian peninsula. As these winds blow over warm regions, they bring abundant moisture to the subcontinent. By early June, the low pressure conditions over the northern plains intensify and these winds are attracted towards this area. They blow with a velocity of about 30 km/hr. The monsoon covers the country about in a month’s time whereas north-west area is exception. Occurrence of monsoon winds and them blowing over the country entirely changes the weather conditions. Early in the season, windward side of Western Ghats receive rainfall more than 250 cm. The parts of...

Climate part 4

The seasons 1.0                  Monsoon type of climate brings with it great differential conditions in the weather over various months of the year. India majorly experiences four seasons- winter, summer, season of advancing monsoon (the rainy season) and season of retreating monsoon (the transition period). Fun fact: - These changes (the seasons) are particularly noticeable in the interior part of the country. The coastal areas do not experience much variation in temperature though there is variation in rainfall pattern. Winter (the cold weather season):- Winter begins from mid November in the northern part of the country and stays till February. December and January are the coldest months in the northern part of India. The temperature decreases from south to north. In southern part the average temperature during winter is 25°C while it ranges from 10°C - 15°C in the northern part. Frost is common in north and snow falls in u...

Climate part 3

The Indian monsoon:-              The climate of India is strongly influenced by the wind system of India and this wind system is called ‘monsoon wind system’. Where did word monsoon come from? Sailors who came to India were benefited from the reversal of the wind system as they helped the sailing ships. These were the people who first noticed the phenomenon of monsoon. The Arabs who also sailed to India named this seasonal reversal of winds as ‘monsoon’. The monsoon is experienced in tropical area roughly between 20°N 20°S. Let’s now look at the factors playing a major role in occurrence of this mechanism:-     I.         The differential heating and cooling of land and water creates a low pressure on the landmass of India while the seas around experience comparatively high pressure.   II.         The shift of Inter Tropical Convergence Zone ...
